OmniSpher is an ultra-high bonding silica that is ideal for the separation of neutral, polar, acidic and basic compounds. The base of this column consists of high-purity silica with a metal ion and salt content of less than 3 ppm. By using silica with such low ion concentrations, secondary effects that contribute to peak tailing are eliminated.
OmniSpher C18 columns use spherical particles with a very narrow particle size distribution. This allows columns to be packed with a high theoretical step number, with good solvent penetration and high mechanical strength.
The one-step derivatization method, in which monofunctional C18 is chemically bonded to the silica surface, creates a uniform non-polar surface phase that contributes to the excellent performance of OmniSpher C18. Due to the symmetry of the peaks, OmniSpher C18 is suitable for the analysis of basic drugs.
This OmniSpher column has an inner diameter of 4.6 mm, is 250 mm long and uses 5.0 µm large particles. In addition to the column, the part number includes a ChromSep cartridge, holder and precolumn.
