Grace was the first company to produce silica gel for commercial purposes in 1921 and has been producing silica for the chromatography industry for over 40 years. Grace was and is known for its high quality GC capillary columns. Grace offers two product lines for every application and budget: Alltech® Heliflex® and Alltech® Econo-Cap™. Heliflex® columns are Grace's premium line of individually tested capillary columns. Econo-Cap™ columns on the other hand, are batch tested and can therefore be offered more cost-effectively without sacrificing quality. Both Heliflex® and Econo-Cap™ columns are manufactured under identical conditions using the same high-quality polyimide-coated fused silica and the same immobilized stationary phases.
