The application of filtration is a common procedure in laboratories of various industries. By means of the right filter units e.g. analyzes in the food industry, the detection of fat, ash or sand content in beverages, various liquids and food as well as different investigations, e.g. of the soil, can be executed.

When using filter units, users can choose between different filter types: Qualitative and quantitative paper filters, membrane filters, extraction tubes and dirt samples are available in our range. These high-quality filtration products come from well-known manufacturers such as Sartorius, Macherey-Nagel and Hahnemühle, which have always guaranteed the highest quality standards made in Germany.

The following types of paper filters are suitable for filtering aqueous solutions (acidic/alkaline) and normal pressure. The residue is analyzed. These papers are best suited for: food control, beverage analysis, environmental monitoring.

Variety 589/1: coarse precipitation. Retention range approx. 12-25 μm, fast

  • Determination of ash content and PCB contamination in foodstuffs according to LFBG § 64 (1) and (2)
  • Fruit juice sampling for photometric analyzes according to LFBG § 64 (1) and (2)
  • Analysis of galvanic baths: aluminum, chromium, copper, nickel
  • Coarse fluffy and gelatinous precipitates: Fe (OH) 3, Al (OH) 3, Cr (OH) 3, CuS, Bi2S3, SiO2
  • Determination of heavy metals in water and waste water analysis

589/2: medium precipitation, retention range approx. 4-12 μm, medium rapid

  • Determination of the sand content and the type of mildew in foodstuffs
  • Mg (NH4) PO4, CaC2O4 (hot precipitates)
  • Analysis of galvanic baths: brass, chrome, gold, silver, lead, copper
  • Beverage industry: Determination of the protein constituents of wort and beers by means of magnesium sulfate precipitation
  • Determination of nitrogen compounds by phosphomolybdenum precipitation. Determination of carbohydrates by hydrolysis

589/3: colloidal precipitates, retention range about 1-2 μm, very slow

  • For very fine, crystalline precipitates such as BaSO4 (hot precipitated), PbSO4, ZnS, NiS
  • Analysis of oils and fats of animal or vegetable origin: Determination of the proportion of soluble impurities
  • Treatment of drinking water and waste water: determination of chemical elements and some radioactive substances by the use of gravimetric, photometric and colorimetric precipitation methods
  • Analysis of galvanic baths: brass, chromium, lead, copper
  • Soil analyzes: Determination of soluble sulphates

595: medium fine crystalline precipitation, retention range approx. 4-7 μm medium rapid, thin

  • Determination of the total fat content in foodstuffs according to LFBG § 64 (1) and 2 (folded)
  • Particle separation of food extracts for sample preparation (folded)
  • Determination of unsaponifiable fractions in fats and oils
  • Digestion of solids with aqua regia, eg for ICP / AAS analyzes (folded)
  • For routine filtration in the laboratory

597: medium fine crystalline precipitation, retention range approx. 4-7 μm medium fast
