The Filtering Flask, or, in memory of the German analytical chemist Ernst Büchner also “Büchner Flask”, is basically a thick-walled Erlenmeyer Flask with a side span. The filtering flask serves as receptacle for filtrate: The side span functions as contact point for a vacuum pump. The filter is located at the upper opening. The filter and the filtering flask are connected through rubber sleeves and conical rubber seals.
