Dip-Slides were originally developed to determine the bacterial content of urine samples. They have been modified into double-sided form over the years, with a medium for Gram-positive species on one side and a medium for Gram-negative species on the other. With these dip slides, colony counting is efficient in terms of time and costs, it enables samples to come into contact with two different media at the same time.
