Round bottom flasks are laboratory glassware for chemical or biochemical purposes with spherical bottoms standardized in accordance with DIN/ISO. Round bottom flasks have a cylindric neck and serve as collect vessels for distillates, for instance. In contrast to flat bottom flasks, such as the Erlenmeyer Flask, a round bottom flask can be put under vacuum without the risk of implosion. There are different formats of round bottom flasks, such as narrow-necked and wide-necked flasks, flasks with standard-ground joint, flasks with spherical joints and many more.
