Microsorb Amino is an aminopropylsilane bonded silica used for the separation of polysaccharides, especially those with molecular weights below 2000; The typical mobile phase for this analysis is acetonitrile/water, and the separation is a complex combination of interactions. Amino columns generally have a higher theoretical step number for carbohydrate analysis than ionic gel-based columns.
In addition, amino columns can be used in normal phase mode due to the typical normal phase solvents. Separations in this mode are similar to separations with non-functionally bound silica, but with much shorter changeover times during the gradient.
This ChromSep Microsorb column cartridge has an inner diameter of 4.6 mm, a length of 150 mm and 5.0 µm large particles.
