At Analytics-Shop you can purchase hollow cathode lamps (HCL) for AAS systems from Agilent Technologies and PerkinElmer, as well as more cost-effective alternatives from Excelitas Noblelight. Some of the lamps are data-coded – for example, for instruments from Agilent/Varian, PerkinElmer or Thermo/Unicam. With these coded versions, the analytical instrument automatically recognises the respective chemical element, so no manual adjustment is required. You can easily select the desired coding type and the elements of the cathode and analyte using the drop-down menu on the left.
Detailed information on hollow cathode lamps can be found here.
37mm hollow cathode lamps (HCL) are used on most equipments: Analytik Jena, Baird Atomic, Beckman, Corning, Evans, GBC, Hitachi, Jenoptik, Unicam, Shimadzu, Thermo, Varian, Zeiss etc.
In our shop you will find more than 300 hollow cathode lamps for all equipments. Multi element lamps can be used for various elements and save time and money.
Hollow cathode lamps are sources of radiation in an atomic absorption spectrometer. The cathode of these lamps consists of the element of the analyte. In this lamp for AAS neon atoms are accelerated by a strong electric field. Meet the neon atoms at the cathode, where they beat out atoms. The ejected atoms behave like a gas and are excited by shock reactions with the electrons of the gas filling the lamps in the electric field. This light of its specific wavelength is emitted.
