The Ultra line represents Restek's largest selection of stationary phases on a single silica support. These columns are made of high purity Type B silica with minimal activity and high loading density; they are designed for selective and reliable HPLC applications.
Restek chemists developed the Ultra Carbamate column specifically for carbamate analysis. The unique packing separates 10 target carbamates in just 5 minutes for a total cycle time of 8 minutes. The column is compatible with fluorescence or LC-MS detection. Up to eight samples per hour can be processed with an Ultra Carbamate column, compared to less than two samples per hour with a C18 general purpose column. In addition to increased sample throughput, this much faster analysis will significantly reduce solvent consumption and the cost of disposing of solvent waste. For more information, see the featured application EVSS2394A-UNV.
Particles: 3 µm or 5 µm, spherical
Pore size: 100 Å
Carbon loading: proprietary
Surface area: 300 m2/g
pH range: 2.5 to 8
Maximum temperature: 80 °C
For post-column derivatization/fluorescence detection applications using a 4.6 mm ID column, the dead volume of the entire system, including the post-column reactor, must be less than 650 μL. For standard post-column reactor systems, we recommend a 5 μm column measuring 250 mm x 4.6 mm. Contact Technical Support or your local Restek representative for more information.
Note: We strongly recommend that you only order a semi-preparative or preparative column once you have evaluated the desired separation on an equivalent column on an analytical scale.
Because we cannot reuse a column or the silica within it once it leaves our facility, we cannot accept returns of large columns.
