Viva columns are based on a large porous material that we have developed for the optimal separation of large molecules. During the development of Viva Silica, we found that many commercially available large pore silicas, while meeting the standard mean pore size of 300 Å, usually have a very wide distribution around this mean, with a significant pore fraction falling below 150 Å. This means that a large part of the surface is inaccessible to larger molecules. In contrast, Viva columns have a narrow distribution around the mean pore size, so that a larger fraction of the silica surface is available for separation.
Restek PFP Propyl is ideally suited for the retention and selectivity of charged bases, electronegative compounds, and amine-containing compounds. Unlike a conventional cyanosol, Restek PFP Propyl is much better suited for LC-MS, working more reliably and efficiently with acidic mobile phases. This versatile column is also compatible with highly aqueous mobile phases and HILIC separations.
Stationary phase category: fluorophenylpropyl (L43)
Ligand type: pentafluorophenylpropyl
Particles: 5 μm, sphäric
Pore size: 300 Å
Carbon loading: 5%
Endcapping: yes
Surface area: 100 m2/g
pH range: 2. 5 to 8
Maximum temperature: 80 °C
Note: We strongly recommend that you only order a semi-preparative or preparative column once you have evaluated the desired separation on an equivalent column on an analytical scale.
Because we cannot reuse a column or the silica within it once it leaves our facility, we cannot accept returns of large columns.
