Chromolith® RP-18 HPLC columns with end capping are the ideal choice for the fast and stable separation of hydrophobic to moderately polar compounds, such as carbidopa or steroids, at low back pressure of the column. In contrast to conventional particle-filled columns, our Chromolith® RP-18 columns consist of monolithic high-purity silica gel with a bimodal structure of macro- and mesopores. The larger macropores reduce the back pressure of the column and thus allow much higher flow rates. The fine mesopore structure of the material, on the other hand, produces a very large active surface for highly efficient separations.
