10 ready-to-use plates of MRS agar for the cultivation, isolation and colony counting of Lactobacilli. Cultivate, isolate and enumerate lactic acid bacteria using Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ MRS Agar. The MRS formulation, developed by de Man, Rogosa and Sharpe, replaces a variable product (tomato juice) while providing a means to support good growth of Lactobacillus in general even when strains in existing media show poor growth showed. It achieves stronger growth of all Lactobacillus strains, especially difficult and slow-growing strains of Lactobacillus brevis and Lactobacillus fermenti.
