Brilliance (Tm) Mrsa 2 Agar, 90 mm mono-plate, 10 plates

The Brilliance MRSA 2 Agar has been improved in two ways compared to the original formulation. New inhibitors in the medium inhibit the growth of additional non-target organisms. Furthermore, any non-target organisms that may be growing are distinguished by a simple coloring, which is achieved by a second chromogen in the medium, which further facilitates interpretation.

The Brilliance MRSA 2 Agar has been further developed compared to the previous formulation to produce larger MRSA colonies with a uniform color. The improved recovery of MRSA combined with the higher selectivity makes the new Brilliance MRSA 2 Agar an invaluable and efficient tool in the fight against infection.

• The Brilliance MRSA 2 Agar can be inoculated with a screening swab from patients or hospital staff, an isolated colony or a liquid suspension.
• MRSA grows in blue colonies that stand out very well against the light, opaque background.
• The plates are incubated at 37 ºC, offering high sensitivity and specificity and results in just 18 hours. This enables a rapid response so that the patient receives appropriate treatment as early as possible, reducing the risk of passing on the infection.
• Precision minimises costs by ensuring that only those who really need it receive expensive treatment.
