Sartorius Nutrient Pad Discs (NKS) have been used successfully for 20 years in conjunction with the Membrane Filter method, which enables the quantitative determination of microorganisms in relatively large sample volumes, and inhibitors such as essential oils or preservatives can be easily flushed out prior to incubation Nutrient - cardboard discs simplify and simplify many microbiological examination methods due to their practical handling Microorganisms need the suitable nutrient medium to grow optimally NKS are sterile culture media in dry form, already inserted into sterile Petri dishes After moistening with 3.0-3.5 ml of sterile distilled or demineralised water, the NCPs are ready for immediate use, and moistening is ideal if a significant excess of liquid is visible at the edge zone. All NKS types are supplied with the corresponding membrane filters, which are also individually and sterile packed. The membrane filters, specially developed to meet the specific requirements of germ detection, are available in either 50 mm or 47 mm diameter. The Nutrient Pad Discs (NCPs) are constantly being improved as part of our product development to meet the changing needs of the application. Apart from new NCP types, we have also optimized the packaging design. The standard pack of Nutrient Pad Discs contains 100 NCPs, each individually placed in a Petri dish and sterilized. Ten of these Petri dishes are each sealed in an aluminum bag. This specially developed packaging protects the sensitive components of the nutrient medium from changes in humidity and temperature fluctuations during transport and storage. Thus, we can guarantee the high quality of the Nutrient Pads during the entire shelf life of up to 24 months. And that is exactly what makes NKS so unique: no other ready-to-use nutrient medium worldwide ensures consistently high quality for reproducible results of up to 2 years. Sartorius currently offers more than 30 different NCP types for different research objectives. In addition to drinking water regulations, other international regulations are also met: international pharmacopoeias, DIN and ISO standards, American standards for water and food, mineral water regulations, brewery guidelines such as MEBAC or EBC, recommendations from the food industry such as LMBG, NCA and ICUMSA etc. Easy storage for up to 24 months In accordance with international standards and references Validation documents available Versatile economical - no time-consuming and labor-intensive preparation of nutrient media necessary Easy to use - no need for advanced microbiological test material
