The unique and replaceable Polyethylene (PE) Safe-Cone filters act as a barrier to prevent vapors of any kind from reaching the pipette's interior components. Standard Safe-Cone filters are suitable for general applications. They can be used for the same tasks as the plus filters, but they need to be replaced more frequently. Self-sealing Plus Safe-Cone filters are specifically designed for applications involving radioactive material, cell culture, bacteria, viruses and molecular biology. The change interval of the filter depends on the sample and the application. However, studies suggest that the filter should be changed daily (or after 50 to 250 pipetting procedures) and immediately in case of excessive aspiration. To ensure the safety of the user, tweezers should be used to change the filter. The mLine pipettes also have an integrated dispensing mechanism.
